Terms of Service
Effective date: May 26, 2026
1. What Handyum is
Handyum operates an online platform that introduces homeowners ("Customers") to independent local home-service professionals ("Pros"). Handyum is a matching service only. Handyum does not perform, supervise, schedule, price, warrant, or take responsibility for any work performed by Pros.
2. Relationship between Customer and Pro
All agreements regarding scope, price, schedule, payment, warranty, and any disputes are between the Customer and the Pro directly. Handyum is not a party to any contract between Customer and Pro and disclaims any liability for the acts or omissions of either party.
3. No license, insurance, or quality verification
Handyum does not verify the licenses, insurance, certifications, or work history of Pros. Customers are responsible for verifying credentials directly with the Pro and (where applicable) the state contractor licensing board before authorizing any work. Some states (including California under CSLB §7048) require a licensed contractor for jobs above a specified dollar amount.
4. Payment
The platform is free for Customers. Pros pay Handyum a lead fee per accepted lead. Handyum does not hold, transmit, or process payment between Customer and Pro. All payment for services is handled directly between Customer and Pro.
5. No guarantees
Handyum makes no guarantees regarding Pro availability, response time, price, work quality, or outcome. The platform is provided "as is." Handyum's total liability to any user, in aggregate, will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
6. Acceptable use
Users will not (a) use the platform for unlawful purposes, (b) impersonate another person, (c) misuse Pro contact information for spam or unrelated solicitation, or (d) attempt to circumvent the lead-fee model.
7. Removal
Handyum may suspend or remove any Customer or Pro at its discretion, including for misconduct reports, fraud, or platform abuse.
8. Changes
Handyum may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
